WHAT IS THE BROTHER'S KEEPER FOUNDATION?
The Brother’s Keeper Programme is a proposed working partnership between individuals/corporate citizens, law enforcement and other regulatory agencies. The Brother's Keeper Foundation is NOT a Orwellian "Big Brother" but an organization whose primary mission is to assist in the objective dissemination of information to the relevant authorities. Information provided electronically by citizens for the purpose of encouraging adherence to the existing laws and normal civil behaviours.
BROTHER’S KEEPER FOUNDATION'S MISSION
To provide a clearinghouse that employs existing electronic technology along with emerging media sources to heighten public awareness and accountability. The primary purpose of the Brother's Keeper Project is to empower a wide cross section of citizens to report errant behavior or serious crime in Trinidad and Tobago. The intent being that the knowledge that someone is looking may lessen the occurrence of these minor infractions.
BROTHER'S KEEPER INITIAL FOCUS
Highlight controversially harmless social incursions by law breakers who totally disregard the safety and quality of life for their fellow citizens. Initially, to focus on acts that are generally considered errant social behavior but impacts negatively on the general public. Specific behaviors that currently irk law abiding citizens and challenge their tolerance levels when they witness non-compliance to the existing laws. Examples of errant behaviors are inconsiderate parking, reckless driving, littering, public urination, loud music and indiscriminate use of obscene language.
